Possibly... search the App store, the forums, or check out the "More Like This" section to the right.
I have the same interest!
The issue I'm having is iMessages does not send/receive texts. If an iPhone user responds to my message but steps out of range of wifi, I won't see it on my laptop, because it came through as a text. It makes for a very inefficient workflow. (In addition, not everyone has an iPhone.) Thoughts?
Well, this thread is over a year old.
As for iMessage, it only applies to iOS users. Therefore there is no concern for non-iOS users. Also, being out of the range of wifi does not stop a message from being sent as an iMessage. There's this thing called cellular data, I'm certain you are aware of it. ;)
I have a customer who wants to text from her computer.
I see you lot have been at this for a few years and are no closer to a solution.
You can solve your problem Eric by accessing all the iPhones you expect messages from on your network, then turn off imessage in the message settings.
This will prevent those phones using an incompatible protocol on your network.
I will keep searching for a solution to my problem. :-)
You just use Messages on your Mac it mirrors your SMS text on your iPhone 😝
That's kind of a closed system. I don't use a Mac I use a PC.
Anybody think Apple will wake up this thread is 4 years old and as far as I can see PC users and text through Iphone.
😕Why did I listen to my son
Absent actual information but just making a guess... perhaps you need to learn how to do what you want.
If you have a question, ask it. Include the version of the OS and the Software you're using. Maybe then someone can help you.

Yeah, this is nothing new. Apple has always been a closed ecosystem.

Apple does not respond in these user to user support forums, they simply host the forums and ensure the users play nicely in the sand box. If there is something specific that you want assistance with, ask a specific question.
Oh I thought the whole thread was discussing the need. Hence the topic "I need a mightytext app what does apple have?" But I guess I shouldn't have assumed people would read the header.
So Ill rephrase the question I need a mightytext app what does apple have, for PC users IOS 9.3.2
Apple does not provide apps for Windows users.
If you need a MightyText app for Windows, contact the developers of MightyText.
Apple has apps in the app store, created by many different developers for iOS. There would be no reason for Apple to create an app to work with MightText, it simply would not benefit them.
Apple isn't a tool, its a fashion. Apple use to cater to the creator and artist, today they cater to the Starbuck's crowd. Hardly worth writing home about. Great hardware, crippled software. It's not about what you want or need, its about what Apple thinks you need, end of story.
When I buy a smart phone, whether its iOS or android, I don't buy wondering if it'll benefit Apple or Google. I buy it to benefit ME and MY needs, I couldn't care less what Apple thinks and neither should I. A smart phone is a tool that i'm paying for so if its not practical and applicable, its useless. The iPhone is a fashion trend at best.
Apple does not allow third party support or integration with SMS and that is the main concern. It limits what apps can be developed. Worse yet, Apple is doing nothing about it, leaving a huge dead spot where there could be an opportunity to make the iPhone a real practical tool. It would be different if Apple said "We have a tool for that, we don't want to open up to third party apps". Sadly, that's not the case. They have no tool and they allow no support. That's draconian and a huge let down.
