My macbook pro can't find any wifi!!!!

I just opened my 2008 15'' MacBook Pro which is running the newest OS and I have no wifi! I tried to connect to the wifi from my cell phone and it worked fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be? This is the first time this has ever happened. Normally my computer detects all the wifis in the area but now it can't pick up one! please help!
