Surround Sound Question, sound card?

so i just got a brand new G5 Tower and ive got a surround sound setup. my question is, on my system ive got 3 colored RCA cords that all need to be plugged into the back of the tower simular to the back of a PC. The tower only has 1 input for speakers. does anyone know of a soundcard or ANYTHING i can use that will make my speakers hook up into my tower.

yes ive already tried radioshack's 3-into-1 conversions and they work horrible. i went to the apple store and they didnt know what to do. can anyone point me into the right direction?

I don't think you want to hook the speakers directly into your G5 - you need an amplifier between the two, otherwise you're not going to get a lot of output. What inputs do you have on your amplifier?

If you have an amp with a digital audio in, you need a TOSlink cable to connect the two.

If you have an amp with analog audio in (red and white RCAs), you can use a mini to RCA cable to connect your G5's mini speaker jack to the amp.

If you got the money for a PowerMac G5 and really want some great sound. There's nothing better than a decent to quality 5.1 -7.1 reciever w/remote /speakers and a Toslink connection. Hook up everything, control it with the remote.

Surround Sound cards just plain sucubus in comparision.

Make sure the reciever can decode most of the surround sound formats so you can watch DVD movies.

I also suggest getting this $15 piece of software, it will do amazing things to your iTunes music as well as level the volume from song to song.

(I recieve no comp, I just think this is about the best $15 I've spent on audio software)
