Q: what if orange light blinks continuously

orange light blinks continuously when i connect my ipod to my laptop. manual says DO NOT DISCONNECT WHEN THE ORANGE LIGHT BLINKS CONTINUOUSLY, DO NOT DISCONNECT IPOD SHUFFLE FROM YOUR COMPUTER, what should i do then? it doesnt stop
