Java 7 "java plugin failed"

Hi all, I updated to the latest version of Mountain Lion 10.8.2 which removed the Java from the system and tried to load a web page requiring Java.

Said I needed the Java Plugin, so I installed as per instructions,( followed them precisely) but now when I load a streaming web page it says that the "java plugin failed". Java is enabled in Safari. I have deleted and reinstalled Java several times and still wont work. Have cleared the cache. Rebooted and reloaded. All to no avail.

It will load a streaming web page in Firefox but very slowly.

Internet connection is very fast, so no problem with that.

Previous java 6 version was fine and a lot faster and more reliable

HELP PLS, I am O/S and there are no Apple Stores anywhere in this country.

I need this for my work.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
