I recently purchased an iPhone 5 from HK. I can use it to make phone calls but I cant send a text message or iMessage. But when I transferred my SIM card back to my 4G everything worked properly.

I recently purchased an iPhone5 from HK. I can use it to make phone calls but I cant send any text messages or iMessage. But when I transferred my SIM card back to my 4S everything worked properly. Did I miss anything?
