Photo Stream privacy question

I was hoping somebody answer definitively that if I delete a photo from Photo Stream does the photo remain on Apple's server? I ask as I don't use Facebook or similar due to privacy issues and wonder whether delete really does mean a 100% delete in this instance. Many thanks in advance.

This is not known for sure, but it is very unlikely that Apple would keep a copy of a deleted photo. This is because a photostream is intended mainly for your personal use, while FaceBook is meant for social use, and because FaceBook uses all your data for its own algorithms. Apple does not do this with photostream, so it is very unlikely that they would keep it after deletion. It is possible that it remains in their system for a short period of time in case you need to recover it, but I would think that after this period of time, the photo would be deleted.
