I was writing a document  in Pages for IPAD and i try to make an organichart, but i can't connect two shapes (two squares) with the "connecting line", i try many times in different ways, but never work. So i decide to try to connect two shape in Keynote for IPAD and in work perfectly.

What i'm doing wrong in Pages for IPAD2012-11-20 09.49.55.png?

thanks in advance

I found the option that you mention!, and it works!! thank you very much!

BUT..... i have to change it manually for each object, either when insert the object or copy/paste the object!

is there any way to set it before I insert and object?

    thanks again

    Juan Pablo.

    Juan,

If the cursor is currently pointing in a Text region as a flashing vertical bar, then the Inserted Object will be Inline by derault. If the cursor is not currently in a text region, the Inserted Object will be Floating by default. To assure that the cursor isn't in a text region, click on an area that is not a text container.

Jerry, i tried to what you say about text region, for example

    a) I selected another object (floating) and it doesnt work

    b) I select a blank area (nothing selected, and no cursor flashing) and it doesnt work

Thanks for your time and help

I see that someone has had your thread moved to the iOS area. I hope that someone here, more familiar with the iOS version of Pages will be able to help you further.

I found a bit of a workaround, but it's not quite perfect. If you create the desired shapes and lines in keynote, you can copy it in it's entirety and paste it into pages. The connection lines are maintained. Hope that helps a little. It sure beats making EVERY shape a floater and then connecting them.
