Can I still purchase the applecare protection plan for my iphone two months after buying it ?

I bought my iphone 5 when it was released in September but did not purchase the applecare protection plan at the same time. I now want to buy it after realising that I should get extra cover after the one year in warranty. Will I still be covered though after having it after two months already ?
