Mac Mini 2012 HDMI and VGA troubleshoot

I just bought a Mac Mini. I am running the video and audio via HDMI into my Denon 4306 and then out to my Panasonic Plasma. Additionally I also am running a Mini Displayport to VGA adapter to my AOC monitor. I am having problems with the resolution on both when they are hooked up at the same time. The resolution seems to become extremely large on the monitor, and the HDMI input look OK, but still too big. At times the monitor will not show at all. How can I solve this?

In Mirroring On Mode OS X tries to choose the best resolution for both monitors and therefor no matter what resolution you select, only one monitor will look right.

Your best bet is to turn Mirroring Off and run in Extended Desktop Mode, that way you can select the correct resolution for each of the monitors.
