final cut studio install disks

I am trying to reinstall my FCS 7.1. to fix a problem with Compressor. I think I'm missing at least one disk. I have nine of them. I think there is an initial FCP Install disk, right? I have FCP Audio Content 1, 2, 3, Motion Content 1 and 2, Media 1 and 2, Apple Loops for Sounrdtrack Pro and DVD Studio. One is missing, right? The most important one?!

Is there any way I can get a replacement disk for this if I am registered? I sure don't want to have to buy this again for a stupid mistake!

There should be 7 discs, 1 white one that has all the applications, and six black ones that contain the additonal stuff.

I count 7 in your post, is that correct?

My version of FCS (2009) aka FCS3 has 7 disks.

Final Cut Studio Install

DVD Studio Pro Content

Motion Content 1 & 2

Audio Content 1, 2, & 3

x

edit - don't know the colors of the disks as I made disk images of all of them to keep on an external firewire drive. Makes installs/reinstalls a snap.

Actually, nine, not counting the missing one. It may be, if the first is white, that I put it with my former set (v. 5). I hope! I'll have to look into that.

Hurray! The White Disk issue was the trick! I found it with my older version.

The bad news is that it won't let me install QMaster or several other things as well; they are greyed out. Could it be because they are already installed? It was recommended that I reinstall Qmaster to see if I can fix a problem with Compressor. What can I do?

Remove finalcut 7 before reinstalling. www.digitalrebellion.com has a fcp uninstaller.

You have all you serial numbers, etc.?

Download and use FCS Remover, to remove all traces of your previous installation, for Digital Rebellion (free).

http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/

Then try the install again.

Hi Shelly

Im going through the same problem. Would you send me a post if the reinstall works after you do the digital rebellion uninstaller. I have read that is very important to use this uninstall program. Im leary thus far about doing what your doing, My compressor is not working also. If it works could you send me a note?
