power mac, thanks for respoding.

I am using ethernet port to connect to internet.

In system preferences there is a message "Ethernet has a self assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to te internet".

Configure IPv4: Using DHCP

IP address:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Subnet mask:255.255.0.0

Router:

DNS Server: 127.x.x.1

when I tried to enter into server preferences I see the pop up "Unable to set node credentials for LDAPv3/127.x.x1 with recordname server$"

Appreciate your time and help.

Yes, this entry is blank.

Not sure if I need to enter manually...how it matters though I am using Ethernet to router - modem-ISP

I remember when it happened first time, Apple support guy asked me to delete the duplicate server entry from settings.

I don't remember from where I deleted that...

After that I didn't received that LDAP error in server preferences..
