Ask AT&T to unlock it. I would think twice, though, about using T-Mobile. T-Mobile's coverage for iPhone will nearly always be 2G (EDGE). 3G is not available in many areas. And they don't offer visual voicemail so you have to call a number to get voicemail. It's up to you, I have an iPhone 5 on AT&T and an iPhone 4S on T-Mobile, but figured I'd warn you.

Thanks - good advice
You're welcome 🙂
And if you do decide to go with T-Mobile, only your current carrier (I'm assuing AT&T) can unlock it for you to work on other networks.
Best of luck.
My current carrier IS T-Mobile..
