Can I use an iPhone with T-mobile as my carrier?

Currently using an iPhone 3GS and would like to upgrade, but I have T-Mobile. Can the phone be modifeid to work with T-MObile?

Ask AT&T to unlock it. I would think twice, though, about using T-Mobile. T-Mobile's coverage for iPhone will nearly always be 2G (EDGE). 3G is not available in many areas. And they don't offer visual voicemail so you have to call a number to get voicemail. It's up to you, I have an iPhone 5 on AT&T and an iPhone 4S on T-Mobile, but figured I'd warn you.
