iMac 17" A1208 2gHz Intel HD and Parts

Hello Everyone,

I have a 17" iMac model A1208. 2gHz Intel and 3gb DDR2 RAM. I already have to replace the LCD and power supply so I may as well put in a new HD. The original 160gb works fine but not enough space. Since the HD in this machine is SATA, can I upgrade to a SSD or should I just use a regular HD?

....btw some people around me say I should just buy a new iMac instead of fixing this one. I certainly will get a new iMac down the road. But why should I scrap this one? Theyre beautiful machines and even with technology moving faster, this iMac still keeps up. I still have my G4 Powerbook and and old G3 iMac...IN OPERATION! Long live the Mac!

Thanks in advance!
