I'm thinking about getting the Audioengine D1 DAC for use with my A5+ speakers(Audioengine) and iMac.
Any input as to set up and the sound quality with iTunes would be appreciated. Most of my audio files are AIFF.

Yes I did. The whole setup sounds great. Jaw dropping difference vs the iMac sound card.
Since the D1 DAC works via USB, The DAC takes over the system sound. You can still control volume with the iTunes slider when listening via iTunes, but not sound coming from the Web. Website volume needs to be controlled via the DAC or my A5+ speakers. This is the only part of the system I wish were different, sound control.
The A5+ Speakers have a volume control, the DAC has a volume control and iTunes has volume control. This can be confusing if you have more than one person controlling the volume.
So what I try to do is leave the A5+ speaker volume alone. Then try to adjust the volume from the DAC or when in iTunes with the iTunes slider.
