Memory for Mac Pro 2006 Intel Dual-Core Xeon

I want to purchase certified memory for my good old dependable 2006 Mac Pro Dual-Core Intel Xeon, it needs: DDR2 667Mhz FB-DIMM PC2-5300 (not available from Apple now). Does anyone know if Ramjet brand is OK (they claim to be 100% compatitble with Apple memory)? Or can someone suggest other brands. There are sometimes problems with heatsinks on cheap brands, so I'd rather avoid that! Also an opinion on whether I should take out the old set of 4 512MB sticks & put the new memory there, or just add the new 4GB (pair of 2GB sticks) in two of the remaining slots (still have 4 remaining slots). Thanks!

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I'd suggest taking a look here: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory#667-memory. I used 16GB of their RAM in my Mac Pro 1,1 for years without difficulty. Their prices are good and they stand behind what they sell. I think you'd be better off not mixing the DIMM sizes.
