Sony HVR-HD1000U camera. Error message says "Capture Preset must have a video or an audio digitizer set to capture. Please change to desired preset in the Audio/Video settings." In Easy Setup I don't see how to do any of that!
The default setup was NTSC, capturing my 1080i video at 480.
Final Cut Express 4, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
Use the HDV Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 easy setup.

Tried that. That is when I get the error message.
Since then, I spoke to AppleCare and at their recommendation, have also downloaded Final cut X. But it also imports 1080i video at 480!!!
Your camera can shoot both HDV and DV. Are you sure you had it set to shoot HDV? And is the camera set for HDV output or to downconvert to DV?
480 is a DV size and it sorta sounds like FCE is telling you that's what it's getting from the camera.
Trouble with capture in FCE.
