How do I limit the number of podcastst that download?

I have several podcasts that download. I have them set as follows:

Subscription- On

Auto Downloads- On

Auto Downloads to Keep- Last 5 Episodes

Sort This Podcast- Newest First

Play this Podcast- Oldest to Newest

My problem is I only want the latest to download and auto delete so that I only keep 5 at time. However, instead of my iphone keeping only the last 5 episodes, my iphone downloads all episodes and I can have 50 episodes on my phone. Even when I manually delete all 50, the next day they show up again.

The weird thing is on my itunes library on my computer, there is only the last 5 episodes

Why does my itunes on my computer work properly yet my iphone downloads every episode?
