At the moment, Boot Camp isn't compatible with Windows 8. You must wait until Apple releases Windows 8 drivers
Why are you asking this in the iPad forum?
Edit: Post has been moved to the MacBook Pro forum
Are you refering to bootcamp or vm ware?
i am asking is it possible to install win 8 full version in win 7 ...if i am already having win 7 in my macbook ..and it will not effect the os x side of the macbook .....and without involving boot camp assistant...reply soon
OK, let me try asking another way. How is win 7 currently installed on your macbook?
Of course using Bootcamp assistant...
But i am now asking is it possible to upgrade win 7 to win 8 running win7 in macbook pro...now you get it
Apple hasn't released Boot Camp drivers for Windows 8. Windows 7 drivers aren't supported on Windows 8 and your Mac couldn't behave correctly after upgrading to Windows 8 in the Windows side (OS X will be working as normal). Wait until Apple releases those drivers for that Windows
have you tried doing that...@mende1
And i dont know that it would work properly or not ...thats why i am asking ...Before taking this Risk
In some cases, it works properly, but in most Macs, Windows 8 doesn't work. I tried installing Windows 8 and Boot Camp drivers can't install, so you can't adjust brightness, the graphic doesn't work in Windows, you can't use the Function keys, the Magic Trackpad is horrible, etc.
So your suggestion is that ..i should wait for the drivers and install win 8 from boot camp ..and not directly from win 7 ...in macbook @mende1
In some cases...i dont get it.... thanks for reply
Wait for the drivers, but you must install Windows 8 upgrading from Windows 7 because Microsoft only allows installations from Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP
This means even if drivers are there..I must install win 8 using win 7 in my macbook pro...and not using bootcamp assistant...thanks for reply
You don't need the assistant to upgrade to a newer Windows
Win 8 stinks on my Macbook Pro. Win 8 doesn't work properly. Don't do it on a production machine. But wait there's much, much more! It has multiple catastophic issues (trackpad doesn't work, the login frequently fails to see the keyboard so you can't login, etc.)
Do not upgrade. You will regret it. I am about to reinstall win 7 from scratch. The upgrade cost is cheap but the reinstall time will be days of my time!
