I cannot Preview JPG images that I created and used to open.

Preview doesn't seem to work any longer.

All pics are denied access.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Preview

Is this an actual permissions issue, or did you recently install a third-party graphics tool that has hi-jacked default image opening from Preview?

Try this:

Right-button (trackpad two finger tap) a .jpg file. Choose Get Info from the menu. In the Open with: section, is Preview set to be the default application to open .jpg files?

Thanks for your help. Going to Info/Permissions didn't help.

I used Utilities to verify the hard drive.

Then I rebooted and, miracle!, Preview works... Problem apparently solved.
