Does my game data transfer over to different ipods when i get a new one?

I currnetly have an ipod touch 4th generation 32gb. I am going to buy an ipod touch 5th generation, and i need to know if my game progress will transfer over...

iPod touch, iOS 6.0.1

If you have been syncing your ipod and restore the new one to the backup of the old one.
