My Power Mac G5 wont start. Only get a high sped fan

I'm having increasing diffuclties starting my Power Mac G5.

I have managed to get through this by switching power off (or just luck) and then restarting.

But no joy so far today.

All I get is a power light & after a while, a high speed fan.

I have noticed the machine gradually getting slower over time, I'm not sure if that is related.

Is it the battery? Or a sick mother board?

Any beeps or flashing of the power light? Which exact G5?

f you don't know the model, find the Serial# & use it on one of these sites, but don't post the Serial# here...
