Having password issues with iMessage / Keychain / email

Not sure what is going on lately with my system but I keep getting periodic prompts to enter email passwords and my keychain password.

Another issue is that I can't seem to log on to iMessage. Trying to figure out how to use the phone text message feature. It seems that this worked before for me in the past but now isn't working. I thought that my iMessage password was the same as my AppleID password. Is this not the case?

Regarding the system remembering passwords: Is there some way to confirm my passwords so I don't have to keep re-entering them other than when first loggin on or unlocking from sleep etc?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), I THINK thats which OS I'm running.

I am also having the same thing! I'm going crazy. Mail is asking for my passwords for my emails, my iMessage does not work, and I've got some apps which ask for my main password. What is wrong? 😟

Hi,

Same isssue for me.. I didn't do anything with my system, and it prompt me anythime I put my computer 'asleep' (Don't know if it's the right word for)

HI,

Check System Preferences > Users and Groups that your account is not set to ask for the password on Waking.

Ralph,

Its more an issue of periodic requests for passwords. I want to retain the setting requiring password after sleep etc for security reasons. Not sure about any "update" that krysia27 is referring to but will look into that since I don't see any notification regarding an OS update.

This was the update I was talking about. I got it a couple of days ago, and fixed my keychain problems.

Hi all,

Just a note as I don't actually have this issue.

At the same time my Software Update and App Store app have also not spotted/reported that I need this Update.
