Battery Life

I've had my Macbook Pro since October and leave it plugged in nearly all the time. I notice that even when it has been plugged in for weeks the battery life is typically 98% rather than the full 100% that I would expect it to be. Why is that? Is it a problem?

Not a problem. See below for Apple's explanation.

I have the same thing, plus when unplugged it keeps jumping the estimated time up&down like crazy, not to mention the annoying "service battery" indicator. Local Apple service says the only thing they can do is to replace the battery, which seems kind of an overkill for just getting rid of the indicator thing, it works for around 4hrs. Trying to recalibrate it now, tried resseting SMC (not sure if it worked, didn't flash any lights or anything, simply turned on after about 10secs), anything else I could to to get rid of the triangle and get the estimates to display right?
