It replaces my old 3gs model. I made some purchased from the iTunes store from the phone. These are showing on my iPhone but not on my iTunes library. When I check the store it shows that I made the purchases. When I look at syncing manually it says that the iPhone is linked to another iTunes library!!? How can I backup my music purchases? Now that I tried to sync to this library,the music that I have on my iPhone have no sound and I can't play it...

Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
A phone can only sync to one library at a time. When you first plug it in it will replace the content with the content of your library. Back up your phone first. Backups are selective (e.g., not music which you should transfer as indicated earlier).
