Q: photo transfer from iphoto photo on iPad to another new iphoto library on mac

Hi guys hope you can help.

I had my photo's stored on my iMac and in iPhoto, and backed up on my iPad. My iMac had its hard drive replaced by apple and in the process the time machine back up failed to cover iphoto.

I am looking to transfer back from the iPad to a mac which has iPhoto the original hi res photo files. When I connect it via itunes it messages that there is a another library and offers to wipe the iPad. When I connect via iPhoto it doesnt treat all the photos as new just ones captured on the iPad.

Ant tips on how to extract from my iPad and transfer to a brand new Mac?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

I assume, you have an iCloud account.

Then the easiest way to get your photos back, would be to save them to the Camera Roll on your iPad. This way, they will not be accidentally erased, if you sync with iTunes. You can import them from your iPad, when you directly to iPhoto, when you connect your ipad,  and also, they will be added to the PhotoStream (My Photo Stream) and you can import them from your Photo Stream.

Or if you want to transfer in a more organized way, create a shared Photo Stream for each event/album and share the individual streams with yourself and your wife. Then you can download from the individual streams.

    See:
