Q: Once I multitask, the app closes! HELP :(

This has been going on for quiet a bit of time.
Whenever I open an app, facebook for example, it would work fine. Then when I switch to something else or the home menu, the app closes. How do I know? Because when I go to switch back to the app it's reopenning. It happens with most social networking apps, such as Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Whats App, and Skype.

 

Here's some proof;

I open up my facebook on my phone, and as usual, I have a green dot next to me on a friends chat that shows that I'm online:

And now when I go back to the home menu, the app should still be running, and it should show a mobile icon next to my name that says I'm avalible on mobile. Instead, it just says I went totally offline! So the app just closed on its own...

    Mulititasking on an iOS device is more like a pause feature that allows you to switch apps quickly and pickup where you left off. Most app don't actually stay running. Here's how Apple describes it from their support page on the subjuct.

     

    "Double-clicking the Home button displays a list of recently used apps. These apps are not necessarily actively in use, open, or taking up system resources. They will instantly launch when you return to them. Certain tasks or services can continue to run in the background."

    I understand what you're saying, but that sort of isn't my problem.

    Facebook, WhatsApp, Skype, those are the apps that are supposed to stay open in the background. Yet for some odd reason they don't.

     

    Not to mention I don't even recieve push notifications from Facebook either.
