Are you filtering hardware addresses in your router for security purposes. You may need to add the network address for your iPad mini in order to join the network.

I do filtering here and occasionally forget to add a new device.

I have the same problem. Except my ipad mini stopped connecting to Wi-fi just this morning. My regular ipad and iPhone and other devices are all able to connect. I downloaded the latest software update (6.0.2) and I am still unable to connect the ipad mini to wifi. It has been reset, restored, etc etc and still is not working. The update was supposed to fix it as per the description, but it did not.

Is this happening with one particular network or with all?

    Try this:

Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.

Go to settings, turn wifi off. Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.

Go to settings/genreral/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.

If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).

If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer suppot website for downloads and instructions).

Since this is a new device, and probably still eligible for tech phone support, I would call AppleCare at 1-800-APL-CARE for further assistance if the above does not work to resolve the issue.
