HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer, scanner problems

I have an HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer.

Tried uninstalling using the HP supplied uninstall software and installed recommended OSX 10.8 software for this device.

I use wireless scanning. Scanner only scans the first page then shows an error.

Anyone have this problem as well and any possible solutions?

Thanks

To clarify, the HP Scan do compatible with Mountain Lion for the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium as part of its full feature software:

What application used to scan, is it HP Scan, Image Capture, Print and Scan or maybe throguh the printer screen?

What format do you scan to?

What exact error message do you see?

Did you updated the latest HP drivers by running Software Update under the Apple menu?

Nothing,

I did not call them, takes forever.

However I found a work around. I was using preview to do the scanning and it appears there is some kind of conflict. May be to the way it was saving the information.

I used Print & Scan in system preferences. Cliced Sacn and it worked great.

The HP Scan works just fine in Mountain Lion for me. Always has.

I think the original poster needs to reinstall the latest software for the printer that came with his printer or directly from HP. Then, install the Apple HP updates.

When he unistalled the HP software, it may have removed the software needed for HP Scan to work properly.

The last software I installed from HP was -> HP_Installer_Officejet_Full_Group05_10.3.dmg

Yes, there have been Apple HP updates, but they never stopped my HP Scan from working.

I agree with Joseph in that the software for Mac 10.6 worked fine for me on my macbook pro, even with additional updates. I have now though ran into the problem of getting that software onto my new imac as it will not allow installation, citing "incompatability with operating system". This in spite of the fact that the software for scanning (HP Scan 3) works just fine on my MBP. This is frustrating as the other scan options lack the functionality of the HP Scan 3 software that came with the HPOJ8500. Any further ideas out there for getting the HP Scan 3 onto a new computer with 10.8?
