How do I disable the SIM PIN on my iPhone?

I enabled the SIM PIN feature, and want to now permanently disable it. But I can't find where, and all internet searches talk about carrier SIM unlocking.

It is located in the same place where you activate it. Go to Settings, Phone, SIM PIN. From there you can turn it on, turn it off and change the PIN.

If you are having difficulty in managing the SIM pin, then contact your carrier. This may be something to do with the SIM card, but they can address the issue.
