iPhone 5 can't connect to Netgear WNDR3700v2 DD-WRT WPA2 5Ghz

I have a Netgear WNDR3700v2 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/14/11) std installed and I can connect to the 5Ghz side with no security enabled. Once I have WPA2 enabled both TKIP and AES or either or, I cannot connect. I can connect to my Time Capsule's 5Ghz network with WPA2 enabled just fine. Wondering if others are having the same problem? My phone is on Verizon, 32GB iPhone 5.

I just purchased an iPhone 5 and had a similar issue with my WNDR3700v2 router. I did try many of the suggestions listed in Apple and NetGear support and finally got everything to work.

My resolution path included:

- Upgraded Firmware from 1.0.0.12 to 1.0.0.36 (yes, it gives you warnings - but my upgrade went smoothly and the interface is much, much nicer)

- Changed SSIDs for the 2 and 5 GHz sides (make them different so your devices have to rediscover and authenticate to "new" networks)

- Set the 5GHz encryption to WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]

This process let me connect my 5 and reconnect my other devices without having to lower my security settings.
