OS X 10.7.5 Fails Software Update: "Unexpected Error Occurred"

So every time I try and run a software update, the files all download no problem, but when I click 'install and restart', I get a dialog box that says something like "Software update could not be completed, an unexpected error occurred".

How do I fix this? I'm running 10.7.5 on a Mid-2011 iMac 27" 3.1Ghz i5.

Thanks 🙂

So an update on this. Turns out it's the Mac OS X v10.7.5 Supplemental Update that won't install. I went to the Apple Store today and they said I need to take it to them for a fix. I'd rather not since I don't really have any way to get it there (I don't have the packaging, or a car, and my nearest store is in Central London). Is there really no way for me to fix it at home? I tried repairing permissions but no luck.
