I just set up my husbands new iPad with his cell phone number but when I text him from home from the iPad it shows up double on his cell phone, how do I change the iPad phone number?

remove the phone number from the iMessages settings on the iPad.
Did you find out how to remove the phone number from your ipad? My daughters ipad has my number in it, so every time I get a text it shows on her ipad. She can't get her number in and mine out.
I have the same problem and the answer above does not seem correct. The original (wrong) phone number can be toggled on/off, but not replaced with another number. There is a facility to add email addresses, but not phone numbers. I also tried signing onto my account, but there is no record of my mobile number in there, so not too sure how I set it up in the first place?!
You are talking about an iPhone number correct? If must be an iPhone number or it will not work anyway.

I believe that you will have to turn Messages off, sign out and start over again for this to work.
