i just bought the ipad 2 and i want to put iworks or at least pages on it but i dont want to pay for the app when i already have the family pack. can i some how put the family pack onto my ipad and how?

No, the iOS versions are separate, made for a different operating system. You have to buy each app in the iTunes Store, but only once for all of your iOS devices.
Family Packs works with OS X machines. you can install it on your Macs.
As Peggy said, iWork for iOS apps are sold on the iTunes Store, for $9,99 each app.
do not forget, you can activate the iCloud function in both iPad and Mac (OSX 10.7 or 10.8) to sync everything you do on this 3 apps.
