transfering files to from Emachines to Apple Imac G5

alright i made one of these a day ago i just cant find it, so basically what i need help with is i have a old emachines that i have tons of files on, and now i need to put them on my apple, i have like 20 gig's of music and like 2 gig's of pictures, so i was told to use an ipod, my old one broke down anyways so it was a good invest ment, now when i connect it to my apple, it just tells me to reconfigure it, which isnt an option being it will erase the songs, what do i do to get my imac g5 to allow the ipod to upload the songs to it?

The instructions in that article will work from a PC to a Mac, and you can transfer data up to the iPod's capacity with each trip. The 204MB limit you saw does not apply to any iPod model other than the shuffle, and it only applies to the shuffle if you choose to reserve the rest of the space on it for music.

On your old computer, connect your iPod

From the File menu, choose Preferences.

Click the "iPod" tab.

Select "manually manage songs and playlists"

You may want to "Enable disk Use" as well.

You should be able to follow the instructions in Niel's post now.
