😕 do i need to purchase/download anything else...Iam still not able to use the photostream option from the icloud menu.

Open Apple menu > Software Update and install the latest iPhoto version. Photo Stream needs iPhoto '11, so if you have an earlier version, you have to purchase iPhoto in the App Store
Thanks!! I was hoping not to have to purchase another app, but I guess I will have to in order to use photostream... is it worth it?
Depends on what version of iPhoto you have - PS requires iPhoto '11 version 9.2 - other iCloud features require other versions of iPhoto and of the OS - see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ for details and instructions

Photo Stream syncs your photos between your devices, and you can share them with other people, so for me it's worth
just downloaded os x mountain lion for photo streaming in iCloud...do I also have to purchase the iPhoto app as well?
