is my music safe on itunes match

I am thinking about adding Ituens Match on my Mac and i wondered about the stuff that is NOT on Itunes. I have alot of rare or unreleasled music on my Itunes and I dont want it to get out (just yet). How does Itunes keep from other people getting my music, how safe is that music and does my music go into their main databank? Before I click on Upload, i would like to know what i am getting into.
