reinstall snow leopard? 2008 iMac?

I've installed Mountain Lion on a dual core 2.8 GHz early 2008 iMac ( 4 GB RAM). I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I Know I should have 8GB RAM for it but i do not (I've been waiting since June for the 2012 iMac but since I live in Thailand and we are very low in the food chain I don't expect one now before June 2013!!!!)

Since installing ML, everything is a problem, Finder keeps crashing and PPCS6 is a nughtmare, it ws far better with SL.

My question is: Can I reinstall SL ( I have the original disc) ,update it without a problem and so remove ML or will everything go pear shaped?

Advice welcome.

Why not buy a cheap external drive, format it using Disk Utility and install Snow Leopard and Premiere on it?

To boot from the Snow Leopard drive just hold down the option key while starting the machine and switch start up drives.

Thanks, I tried this, but it says.' cannot install this version,you have 23.1 install' I think this means that once ML is installed that's it!. I copied the DVD to an external HD and still the same 'cannot'
