New Podcasts Won't Sync

Hello, I have two regular podcast that I subscribe too (one solely audio, one video), but the latest episodes won't sync to my iPod Classic (80GB). All previous episodes are on there and play, plus the podcasts play fine through my iTunes itself. I have checked my settings, and they haven't changed - and they still update automatically, they just won't sync to the iPod. Other files (uploaded Cds and photos etc) are still transferring fine too.

Also, I did try the 'Create iPod or iPhone Version' but every time I get the "spinning beach-ball of doom" and have to force quit iTunes.

Is this a podcast-maker issue, or something wrong with my iPod? Any help much appreciated...

iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

No error messages though when you sync the iPod? To be sure, reset warnings on the iPod. To do this, control->click on your iPod under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and select Reset Warnings. From there, resyn the iPod and make note of any error messages that may or may not appear.

It's likely that the podcast producer has updated the video settings they encode the podcasts at to be more suitable for newer devices such as the iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone. The settings they are using are no longer compatible with the video playback settings that the iPod Classic is capable of working with. You can try contacting the Podcast Producer for more information as to whether or not they did make this change.
