I have just purchased the new iPad

I am trying to transfer all my contact details from my iPod Touch (2nd Generation) to my new iPad. Having looked at the iTunes help I am confused as to whether the contact sync will be from my computer or another device. I do not want to sync then find that my details have been wiped from my iPod Touch.

iCloud would have been a better option but my iPod is too old for this media. Any help would be appreciated.

iPad, iOS 6.0.1

The tedious but works way would be to mail your contacts from your touch to yourself, then open that mail on your iPad and save it.

Beyond that, sync your touch to your computer and if you look under the info tab you'll see the option to overwrite your contacts on your computer with those on your touch. If you do that, then you can hook up your iPad and sync and those contacts should be on your iPad.
