This iPad hasn’t been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. Cannot lock how do i reset

Hi I can’t back my iPad from my settings menu, it is Grey and won’t work with my touch, I tried to reset by hol the home button and the power button but no luck. I was told that I can do it from the Applesite but I can’t please help?

If you mean you are seeing this message on your screen and can't get out of it, hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Me too. my old iPad used to just do it. This one tells me, then I think I've locked it and obviously haven't. I must have a different idea of what 'locked' means, from them, but how do I find out?
