When I connect my iMac to my plasma TV,I want that the display of my iMac should turn off as everything is being shown on the display of the plasma TV.
How should I do it.
Please help me.

purchase an Apple TV. with Apple TV you could network any of your Apple devices including your iMac to display on your TV as well as some other great options!
Easiest way to do this that I can think of would be to set your iMac's display sleep setting to a lower setting.
System Preferences > Energy Saver > Display Sleep
