When checking the spellings in Pages 4.2 I find that it will not add new words to the dictionary when asked to learn them. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

It should work, what exact steps are you taking to make it learn?

I can't say I've had this or, even, read of anyone else having the problem. But, my first inclination is that the spelling file has had its permissions messed up, it is locked or otherwise corrupt. You could start with using Disk Utility to repair permissions which might take care of the first cause. Also, just restarting your Mac periodically can fix a lot of little issues like this.
Both of these have been tried with no success. To answer Peter's question, I click "learn" on the window which opens when I ask it to spell check the entire document.
Since yesterday I have discovered that the words which Pages doesn't learn have an apostophe s at the end. I hadn't realised that it seems to learn any other words. Odd because the dictionary does already contain similar words.
