What printers are compatible with a macbook pro os x

This article from Apple shows the brands and models of printer drivers that are available via Apple Software Update. So if you connect one of these printers to your Mac, the supporting printer driver and possibly the scanner driver will be downloaded and installed automatically.

What printer do you have - make and model number?

There are only a few that I know of that absolutely will not work.

If you want recommendations I like Brother printers these days, followed by the rest, in alphabetical order.
