Is safari ruined with all these unnecessary 'tweaks'?

I am sure this is all over the forums, Safari has gone back years with all these 'improvements', tabs are now fiddly at best and the one web and search box, unuseable in everyday searching or browsing at the same time. Come on apple, put it back to how they were. Your product is poorer since updates.
