cannot get powermac g4 to connect via ethernet and dont know how to locate airport card

cannot get connected to internet with at&t u-verse via ethernet and can't get airport option to be selectable (it's greyed out) might not have airport card? don't really know where to look, if not how and why will it not connect via ethernet LAN?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.3.x), g4

The G4 desktops didn't come with an airport card, so it's probably not installed.


The install location is on the left side of the access door. There's a metal enclosure with a small right-angle connector on a small cable.


If it's not connecting via ethernet, you don't hsve the Mac's ethernet settings right or the router/modem settings are not correct.
