Q: Gemini Firstmix not working with Macbook pro usb3?

I have a Gemini Firstmix controller, works fine on my Mac tower, does not work on my new MacBook (not retina display)

Cross DJ LE 1.5.2 boots, (it does not with no controller attached) so it at least partially recognizes that the controller is plugged in, but it does not function.

Any ideas?
