My safari address bar does not update when I move to a new site through a link or bookmarks. The field remains blue with the web address of the site I just left and stays there no matter how many links I go to. I tried quitting and restarting and it works normally for a while but comes right back. Same with a reset. Is this a common bug or is there a fix?

Select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

Thanks Linc, so far so good. I will move this to solved after a little more testing.
That may not be the real fix, because I use Ghostery and have no problems with it. You still have to test without extensions, though.
This seems to have solved the problem. I discarded three extensions I never used (Click to Flash, Invisible Hand and No More Itunes) then turned extensions off and restarted Safari. After some succesful testing I turned extensions back on and have not had a problem since. Thanks for the help Linc.
