Phone: iPhone 4s.
My Wi-Fi is grayed out/dim and come to the conclusion that it is the recent update that is not allowing me to use WiFi.
Looked online but it seems it is only possible to downgrade from iOS 6?!
Would be so so grateful if someone could help me out because my iPhone is driving me crazy!

there is no apple support way to downgrade ios. but we can help with trouble shooting

Downgrading is not supported by Apple, thus no official way to do so.
The upgrade did not cause your WiFi problem. And there is no legitimate way to downgrade. See this for help with your problem: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
There is not supported way. but you can try to restore the phone as new through itunes to help with the problems you are having

oh, I followed these steps before. reset my phone completely, and the option to turn on Wi-Fi is still dim
Then make an appointment at an Apple store.

If not covered by warranty, and your phone has a hardware failure, you will be offered an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $199 for a 4S. But, go to an Apple store to confirm whether you have a hardware issue or not.
