Hi! I have a MacBook Pro. I have iPhoto, and I am looking to upgrade to something like Photoshop; however I am having difficulties finding something compatible with my operating system. I've tried Pixelmator, Photoshop & Gimp, but none seem to be compatible. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences they can share?

Honestly, I didn't know I should be upgrading. So far this OS has been sufficient! What would you recommend?
I downloaded Graphic Converter, and it says it isn't compatible- I need OS 10.6.8 or above.
Updating to 10.6.8 is free for you.
Software Update (under the Apple menu).
It all depends on what Mac you have and what it will support but there is Lion 10.7 and Mountain Lion 10.8 available.

If you do contemplate upgrading to 10.7 or 10.8 it is worth pointing out also that some of your current software may no longer work, and so require additional upgrade costs. Your current 10.6 has the Rosetta emulator allowing it to run older PowerPC applications on your intel Mac. This ability is no longer available in 10.7 or higher.

I use Photoshop Elements 6 on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. It works well.
This is my first Mac, so forgive my ignorance. Now I have plenty of options, thank-you!!!
Photoshop Elements 6 works in 10.6.3, too.
Earlier builds of Graphic Converter may still be available with a little digging.
